We will be using a clip chart to monitor student choices in the classroom. The clip chart is divided into 7 colored sections. Each day students start out on green~ Ready To Learn. Good choices will enable students to move up on the clip chart and poor choices will cause students to move down. If a student moves all the way to pink~ Outstanding! ~ they will get to add a jewel to their clip and take a happy postcard home! Moving up the clip chart means that a student has gone above and beyond classroom expectations.
Certain choices can also mean that the clip is moved down. If a student moves down to the
Orange level, they will miss 5 minutes of recess time to think about the choices they have made.
Moving to Red level~ Parent Contact~ means loss of a whole recess to fill out a "Fix-It" note to take home for parents to see and sign. Sometimes a student may need to be sent to see the principal if their choices are disruptive to the learning of the classroom.
